The Squirrel’s Prayer

An adult woman with short silver hair, blue eye shadow and red lips stands with hands pressed together in prayer. She wears a mint jacket and layered ivory skirt; her shins and enormous feet are rough stone. She looks up at a squirrel on a high window sill. Dusty pink walls carry sparse scratched words, tally marks and a small crude sexual doodle. Sunlight crosses the cream floor beneath a blue ceiling.

What does a prayer weigh?

A praying figure with enormous stone feet stands in a pink room beneath a squirrel at the window. A human–AI artwork by Allanweird + Rocket, inspired by Morbofly’s 2007 poem.

The sky is close. The body stays. A small animal watches from the window while the walls carry scratched words, a crude drawing and traces of waiting.

From poem to image

The literary starting point is “Oración de la Ardilla”, published on The Morbofly on February 16, 2007. The source is signed Luis López Rueda, “Deportivas Columbia S.A”, and lists Nanna as publisher. The visual interpretation belongs to 2026.

The archival poem became a starting point for dialogue between Allanweird and Rocket through ChatGPT. Its chains of requests and substitutions open a scene in which a gesture can rise while a body remains impossibly heavy.

“What does a prayer weigh?”, “Words ask. Matter answers.” and “Heaven has weight.” are new English editorial phrases for this visual series, not quotations or translations of the 2007 source.

Weight and traces

Two generative enlargements developed from the approved artwork. They are related interpretations of its details, not literal pixel crops. The sparse wall marks and the stone feet hold different forms of weight.

A mostly bare dusty pink plaster wall. The word FUCK is scratched thinly into the left-center and crossed out. Lower on the right, a faint scratched face appears above MIERDA. A minimal generative detail derived from The Squirrel’s Prayer.

The original poem

Morbofly · February 16, 2007. Original Spanish, with archival spelling and signature preserved.

Pídeme viento y te daré una corneta
Pídeme una corneta y te daré mi chancleta
Si no fumas piedra te olvidas del cielo
