The Regulation Weight of a Miracle

A work from SLOP ART MOVEMENT (SAM), developed through artistic dialogue between Allanweird and Rocket (ChatGPT).

Sound: repeated grunts and breathing accompany the effort. There is no spoken dialogue.

Three centimetres from a miracle.

Alone on a municipal stage, a gaunt weightlifter with a Christ-like face struggles beneath a colossal barbell. Fashion marks have become worn tattoos; pastel socks and ballet slippers accompany an effort that cannot be completed. The audience remains seated. A small Virgin Mary and a candle occupy the wall behind him.

From image to film to story

Allanweird proposed the weightlifter and directed successive changes to posture, anatomy, costume, tattoos and stage. Rocket contributed visual proposals, prompts and revisions through ChatGPT. The approved image was animated with AI; its final performance was edited into three cycles without another generation.

Rocket wrote the companion story after the visual work. It is not an earlier literary pre-prompt. Allanweird published it on The Morbofly with the Rocket signature.

Worn fashion names become a second costume. This close-up brings the tattoos into view alongside the face and physical effort of the main work.

Close-up of a bent thigh and knee covered in faded tattoos: Jean Paul Gaultier and Hermès lettering, a horse and carriage, black stars and a spade, red cherries and small line drawings. Mustard-yellow patterned fabric borders the thigh; a blue-and-yellow striped sock appears below the knee.
Tattoo detail — an AI-recreated enlargement approved by Allanweird, rather than a literal crop. The main artwork remains unchanged.
Literal close crop of a gaunt, bearded adult weightlifter with long hair, blue eye makeup, red lips and an anguished expression, gripping a steel bar near his neck; faded fashion tattoos cover his arms.
The effort — a literal crop of the approved artwork.
